MAHARASHTRA DAY 1st MAY

Maharashtra Day is celebrated on May 1st every year to commemorate the formation of the state of Maharashtra. On this day in 1960, the state of Bombay was divided into two states based on linguistic and cultural differences, and the Marathi-speaking regions were formed into the state of Maharashtra.
